Quick questions
Today i popped off my engine cover to do some seafoam treatment and i noticed a clip on the hose that leads to the FPR that I didnt know how to remove... do i just gently pull it off? will it come back on easily? Heres a picture:

(I hope that is the line that im supposed to be using for the seafoam, correct me if i'm wrong)
Also, i noticed that one of the other pipes was frayed pretty badly, and i was wondering if this is an immediate problem that I should take care of or what
Heres a picture:

Is it dangerous for me to drive my car with that pipe about to tear?

Either push it with a flat head screw driver while you pull or use some needle noses to pull it of. Once off you can either try to push it back on with the clip still on it or remove it and use a zip tie to hold it tight.

That is your egr valve. I just found that mine was completly ripped and i just had to replace the 6" peice of hose. Replace it now and then you wont have to worry about it.

RE: Quick questions
all you need is some vacuum hose. just go to the autoparts store and then take it off and give it to them to give you the right dia. hose. Just cut it to the right size (they sell it in 1' increments) and put it on and drive away. Take 30secs to remove and install together. And if you have zip ties you can secure it tightly with them. Not hard.

RE: Quick questions
That first clamp is a one time use clamp. You should not try to reuse it. And I have to disagree with using zip ties to secure hoses. [] I know EGR lines never have a whole ton of pressure behind them, but that's still kind of a half azz way of doing things. A standard screw driver driven metal hose clamp will even the load, hold up to underhood temps, provide enouph clamping force to ensure a seal, and be easily reusable. Allowing you to remove and reinstall the hose whenever you want, with just a screw driver.

RE: Quick questions
I've seafoamed an old ford 5.0 woodie station wagon with good results...
Anyone have results on a TT?
I'm sure there is nowhere near as much built up gunk in the 5 or so years they've been around,
but I would bet on some noticeable improvement in a 70k mile plus TT.

RE: Quick questions
Seafoam it's an engine steam cleaner type crap that you would think would choke your car to death. And it still scares the crap out of me to use it.
