Default Problem with license plate light...

About three weeks ago I noticed my driver's side tag light was burnt out, so I decided to go ahead and replace both lights with LED bulbs from 42dd. But last night I noticed that the driver's side bulb wasn't lit up once again. So now I'm thinking that the tag light assembly needs to be replaced. But before I do that, is there anything else that could be causing this?

^im somewhat in the same boat.
except when i replaced mine i bought ebay ones and they burnt out. today i replaced them with the 42dd ones. My ebay ones have corrosion all over them... if they burn out again im going to buy new cover pieces from audi cuz there is a leak somewhere.

I never considered a leak... Either way, a whole new assembly should solve the problem. And they are only ~$14 from ECS.

nevermind i found it.
its 14 bucks per side. is that the lense and black surround piece?

It's dark and stormy out right now (Oklahoma weather sucks) but I'll check for corrosion first thing tomorrow...

Oh and here's a dumb question... On ECS's website it lists two assemblies, a left side and a right side assembly. Which one is the driver's side assembly? I'm assuming left...
