i have a 2000 audi tt fwd,timing belt and valves need to be redone. The car shut
off while driving it at 45 mph , timming belt broke, now timing belt has been changed
and timing done but no compression car currently NOT
RUNNING..what should i do? rebuilt it or get a new engine? where can i find cheap engine? is VW 1.8 exact the same engine as TT? about how much is going to cost me? thanks

 

I see 1.8T's on ebay all the time try looking on there. It would probably be cheaper than fixing your motor. There was a TT225 motor on there the other day for 3500 but that would probably take some work to swap that in there.

 

How many miles do you have on your car?

 

90000mile, can i drop in a VW engine? are they the same?

 

Cripes, My car is at 81,000 miles. I need to get mine done soon then.

I do not want to loose my engine because of a stupid $26 timing belt.

if you have the AWP engine you can use a vw engine but will have to use some of your accesories. where are you located?

I'm getting it done in january, thats when I get my bonus, i just really hope im not one of the un-lucky ones who have it go super early.

 

i need new valve, how much are they? where can i get them? also maybe the head..thanks..also where i find the number for the block code? what's AWP engine..thanks, i'm totally new to this..
