Paint is trashed!
I did something which I realize now was stupid, I deciced to use the brush at the hand jet wash because my car had so much dirt on it and now the car is covered in swirly scratches. It looks like someone has rubbed the car down with sandpaper. What is the best way to get these out assuming this is something I could do myself?
Also, is it worth trying to my a case against the car wash company? I know brshed can leave micro scracthes but this is way beyond that.
Thanks.

You can use a high quality swirl remover and a 7" buffer (rotary preferable), but you need to be careful not to burn the clearcoat. I like McGuire and 3M products. If the scratches are not too deep, you might get by with a lighter-duty orbital buffer.
You are likely out of luck with the car wash. They likely post a "use at your own risk" sign and won't listen to you. If you can find out who their insurance carrier is you can try to submit a claim. Don't hold your breath though.
What would possess you to us the brush ? God only knows what the last guy used it for.

The previous guy used it to knock the rocks and mud out of the wheelwells of his trail rig, or at least, thats what you should always assume.
No touch carwashes unless you're hand washing!!!
Good luck with it

For about $200 you can get a good buffer and do a 3 to 4 step detail job to get it all out. You will have to use a heavy polish to shave a micro layer of clearcoat off, then a light polish tobuff it out some. This will get the swhirls out. Then do a glaze to fill in any imperfections and shine it up. Then follow with a sealant or wax. Go to a detail sight and buy a kit. A good detail should be done once a year at least. Dont worry about shaving a micro layer of clear coat off, there is plenty there. You would be amazed at what a good detailer can do to some Fd up paint.
