so thoughts. Is 88k too many miles for a 225q? And what are some super specific things to check for... I have any idea of a few things the look at, one being the haldex. I read you can check if it is working by doing the drive in a circle thing. Any other stuff? Im going to look at this car on tuesday. I am starting to think that 88k is to many miles for me. I can do all of my own service so im not woried about that. Im just worried about the overall cost of parts haha

I'm going to turn 80k on mine this weekend.

I wouldn't worry about an 80k car more than a 60k car as long as maintenance is done.

You could have had an ******* driving it for 60k, and have a beat car.
The 80k car could have had a good driver that was trying to get the best gas mileage possible and never took it above 4500 rpm.

The only thing bad about that is resale value.
People are scared of cars with over 100k that aren't hondas [&:]

And yes, all chips that I know of remove the electronic governor, and they raise redline also.
But yer still not doing 193, so don't even try to race her

 

Mine has 93k currently and still drives perfectly The TB has never been changed and it's never broken itself since I owned it. so as long as it drives good when you go to look at it I wouldnt be scared by the mileage.

I'm not sure I would want to do 193 in my TT before it got ripped off the drip pan used to fall off at 80 I could only imagine what might come off at 193

My TT just hit 80k this past week, and is still running strong.

 

Also I cant speak for the first 25k miles of the cars life but from knowing the cars second owner and me being the third I can say that for the majority of its miles it has been driven hard

ha! yeah, dumb girls and their dumbness....

ok, i just question the 88k cuz its modded and i dont think the tb has been changed. Which is fine cuz the parts for the tb dont cost that much and will only take part of a day... maybe a whole day. Im guessing about 5-6 hour job. Im going on tuesday, so if it feels strong i will buy it... Im taking 11 in a cashiers check and im going to bring 500 cash. Im gonna try to get it for 11 if i can lol. I ran a carfax and it DOES have an accident on the record.. It wasnt salvaged or anything it was a police reported thingy it just says it was hit on the rear right side over last winter...
anything else i should look for specific to the car?
