I'm not selling the TT, I am looking for a car for the girlfriend, are there any good forums like this out there for this car? any good or bad experiences? they seem pretty reasonable I have found several 2002-2003 for under $15,000. thanks in advance Wayne

 

I have a 02 mercedes C240 with a manual 6 speed. - They are decent cars, very reliable if anything. - However they are slow. - If its a daily driver its a great car.


I'm not sure of the Kommpressor is fast however, but it might be.

In my opinon you should save up a bit more money and get a Mecedes C32 AMG, you'll be alot happier. - If I could re buy. - Thats what I would go with.

I looked into the SLK at one point in time and I kept reading complaints that the 230 kompressor didn't have enough *****...it's probably in the same neighborhood as a 180TT. Bet you could get a new pulley for the SC to push a little more boost though, most stock supercharged cars you can.

Benz always had horrible reliability in Consumer Reports though...don't agree to covering your woman's repair bills

 

The Mercedes i've owned have never given me any issues (Knock on wood). - All I do is oil changes and standard care and its perfect.

As for issues, my Audi has had hands down more issues than any other car i've ever owned. - Literally the one and ONLY Audi i've ever owned has given me more trouble with repairs..etc than all of my previous cars combined. - And I dont abuse my cars, I'm assuming the last owner must have.

Anyways, I love Mercedes, but if your going to get one get an AMG you'll be a whole lot happier. - Even look at the C36 (I believe that is the correct model) - Its the older body style but its a BEAST. - And it gives you alot of room for how quick it is.

Mind you I like to have power when I need it

My 95 E320 was a very reliable if somewhat sedate car. I loved how it drove. Nice interior, beautiful wood/leather. Very well put together car. I haven't had too much experience with the C class cars, but they seem like nice little cars. Any reason you're not looking into B6 A4s for her? You can pick upa clean 3.0l car for between $15-$18k with fairly low miles.

 

Umm slow that is about all I know about them, for that money I can think of a few more cars that look just as good but are better performing.

 

I'd suggest you save for the AMG or go after a BMW.

- You could get a nice 540i in that price range. - Those are beasts. - the 4.0L v8 will keep your car screaming into the tripple digits.

 

I have a friend that has a 540i that wants to run me, of course he decided to go and put some M5 stuff on it, but hey thats alot of weight that he has to get moving, i think I can take him. Sweet cars though!!!

 

A 540i will smoke you unless you have some SERIOUS bolt on's. - Our cars die out around 80mph. - thing is.. those cars still pull until around 120mph...even then they're still pulling strong. - My seven series had the same engine and pulled HARD until 120. - Not much could keep up with me from a roll at 80mph. - So unless your getting some SERIOUS distance at first, it'll eat ya!
