I have a 2001 TT 225 Quattro. When I have my light dial turned on, both the headlights and the 4 tail red lights are on and working. However, when I press on the brake the inner passenger side rear light does not get brighter, while the other 3 rear lights do get brighter.

I'm assuming the bulb is the same for both, so I'm guessing there is some switch/control which feeds more amps to the bulb to get brighter.

Is this control the problem? If so, can someone help me locate it?

Replace the bulb that is not illuminating. Make sure it has the correct wattage & does not say "made in China" on it!

 

Wait so you are saying he brake light bulb is separate from the normal tail light bulb?

one of my tail light bulbs would never turn on unless i hit the light with my hand, i got led replacement bulbs and never had this problem again, only 20 bucks for 4 bulbs

 

yes, brake light bulbs are separate. I just bought some (last month) and they are about $6.00 for a two-pack at autozone. bulb number is something like 7528 or close as I recall.
