Noob question on pedal placement

RE: Noob question on pedal placement
ok, just got back from a drive and when i touch the brake the gas pedel does not work in my 2000. BUT...If i was in nuetral the car would rev up but not in gear. Steve, i bet you should still be able to do it in stock mode because that wouldnt take you car back to 100% stock, just maps. Say if you have a cat delete file, you would still not get a cel for not cat. So i assume the heel-toe would still work also.

You might be right Cincy... but I'll check anyway. I know the chip also removes the Rev and Speed limiters and since I only use the stock mode when I take it in for smog check, I never notice any of those other things. Supposedly the "stock mode" is supposed to be a copy of the stock chip before they removed it to install the new one, but that's only my fuzzy "old man" recollection from 3 years ago.

RE: Noob question on pedal placement
Okay.. it's not gone, but I've had it well into the redline at the track and never had it kill the fuel. So it's up there high enough that I never hit it anymore. I know.. some are going to say... "Why not shift, you are out of the power band" The reason for that is, there are quite a few spots on the track where you are 100 yards or so from a braking zone and a corner, so upshifting and then downshifting again takes more away than letting it run up into the redline for a few seconds.
