Default Noisy wastegate

Anyone have a noisy wastegate after install of a boost controller? Are there any benefits from doing different wastegates?

No benefits on a stock turbo.

And that noise probably isn't the wastegate...just lots of airflow through the compressor

My local Euro shop said it was the wastegate opening and closing. It only happens at partial boost, like 5psi-12psi. It's like a metallic *****? I dunno how to describe it.

I don't think there's any way you could hear that tiiiiiiny wastegate opening/closing over the exhaust.

My guess would be it's your DV opening/closing since the ECU uses it to control partial boost.

It has a higher psi spring and will build and hold boost better. not worth it on a 180 but should be a decent improvement on a 225. However for the price, i would just get a greddy ebc and get the same if not better results, not to mention transferable to a new turbo set up
