Default noise under the hood..??

hello to everyone, ive got a cupple of questions : i just got a 01' 225 with 48k,and it was fine untill about 2 weeks ago there was a noise under the hood. i thought that it might of been the fan belt because it was glazed a little bit. so changed it and there was still a noise. it sounds like its by the timing belt, its not a very nice sound. its like a high pitch sound with skweaking but goes awys if yougive it a little gas and will come and go. im planing on changing the timing belt now, and i want to get a chip and exsaust but this noise it really getting to me. any sugestions on what this noise might be???

yea, you can hear it from inside the car, it doesnt really sound like its in the glove box, but it is in that general area. i just can not figure out waht it is. i dont think that it is internal in the engine.

Tighten your fan belt.
while you're at it put in some blinker fluid and get a new 710 cap.

..... The fans in the TT are electric ....

Hehe. You must of changed the serpentine belt then...
Was it a belt for the alternator, water pump, and a/c compressor? Did it have a tensioner on it? Did you replace this tensioner?

Oh yeah... Did you hear this noise on a cold start?
The high pitched squealing sound is the secondary air pump trying to warm up the car... You're fine.

Now go get your money back for that fan belt!
