Default newbe here

Hi guys im new to the site. i hope i can get some information on my 2003 TT. My wife and i just picked one up in august. I wanted to see if anyone else have the same problems we did when we first got her. We pick it up with 52000 mils. from what i been hearing is 03s are known to have bad water pumps. well what would you know the day after we got it the water pump was shoot. my question is, is this normal for an 03 with 52000 mils? so far it was fixed we had no other problems. have any of you who drive an 03 TT have this happen? and is there anything else i should look out for with this car. I never had an Audi before so its all new to me. Thanks

Kevin

Yeah the pumps commonly go out around the 60k mark, this is a good time to buy the entire timing belt repair kit with the water pump from www.ecstuning.com this will save you hundreds in parts alone. You can either have the dealer install it or a good euro shop.
As for any other problems you wanna look out for is just basic stuff like brakes, or a ripped cv boot, things like that.

I also wanted to know if the transmision was something else to look at. when ever i come to a stop and the speed drops below 20mh it makes a jurking move ment. as if its down shiffting into 1st. but hard. its not a smooth shift. is this normal?

I just had my tranny replaced...and I only have 34,490 miles on mine...hope you have an extended warranty, because if you dont itll cost you $7,000+!!!

Thankfully I had it, and I only had to pay $75.

I have no clue how it happened...musta been the previous owner...bet it was someone who didnt take very good care of it...the service dept. said that the fluids were all burnt and black...and they also said there were metal shavings in the fluid.

I am trying to take good care of this car...its too nice not to.

And Ive had many unfortunate events happen to it in the 7 months that Ive had it.

wow i hope i dont end up having to get a hole new trans. as far as i know when we got the car from Audi they checked everything when they replaced the water pump. but i dont trust the dealer we got the car from. im setting up a appointment with a better dealer to do a over all of the car to make sure. we have a two year warranty on it for now. so i might as well get it looked.
