New Turbo kit plz.. help!

The APR 180 kit DOES NOT have a FMIC, the 225 kit that is $7k DOES.
First are you sure the oil is coming from the turbo? It could just be blow by from the engine and getting into the pipes. If you dont have any shaft play or blowing out a bunch of smoke or oil, you dont have a bad turbo.
Now to the Kinetic kit. It is a great kit. It will fit a 180q or fwd, you will still need a clutch, ic upgrade, tuning, and fueling (well rods if you want to actually push the turbo). When you add it all up, you are still spendingn less than a 180 APR kit with turbos that can make more power and have the same if not better reliability.
As for the turbo, the kinetic turbos are good, but if you spend another $100, you get a garrett 50trim which should last longer overall. If you want to spend another $500, you can get a dbb turbo like a 28rs-3071r.

Arnolds kits are great. The best thing about his is you can get w/e your hearts desires. If you want a t3 or t25, .63 .64 .82 .86, hks or tial housing, and even different trims of turbos. The only down side to his kits are you have to wait a little longer if you dont have fwd since he doesnt have a bunch of dps for the 180q or 225.

Alright so I wasn't crazy...I thought they did as well. The two of us were talking apples to oranges there...never specified which kit.

I say go with.... The Kinetic kit, because that is what I have. It is getting installed right now and I am going with Unitronic BT software, after having APR software the past 2 years and not really liking it. This kit is a bolt on kit, you will need a turbo inlet pipe along with a charge pipe. Actually the pipe now comes with a TIP so thats good. You will need a FMIC, clutch, and exhaust like the others said. The reason I went with that kit is because it is much less expensive than APR's and it will bolt right up to a 42DD DP which I already had. If you want to know more ask me but also talk to Rippinralf(Clay) on VWvortex. Tell him I sent you, he can help you out with anything you need. Keep in mind that the APR if you go with the APR kit you still need a FMIC, exhaust, and clutch. APR does come with a DP.

EDIT: Everything in the Kinetic kit is top notch, I have pictures I will be uploading soon. Oh what DP do you have?

The hardware kit now comes with a inlet pipe. When zero ordered his parts that stuff wasnt available. As for a clutch, if you head over to vortex you can useually get a good deal on a clutchnet which i will probably be getting. Other good ones are southbend and some people like clutchmaster

This kit really isnt "cheap", just a little less expensive. It only saves about $100-200 off a hardware kit since the "o2" pipe is cheaper than most peoples dp however their manifold is a little more costly. Also the turbo used here is about $100 cheaper than a garrett so thats another couple $'s saved. If you want to save money for a 225, you either need to go with a t3t4 or a internal gated T25 turbo (gt28rs-gt3071r). The t3t4's are ~$700 and an internally gated T25 will save you about $220 since you dont need a wastegate and the turbos still cost ~ the same.
