What tweety was implying a car without carpet, flat seats and minimal sound damping is not friendly for the average daily driver.
I love the lotus, but I would never buy one because it would be to tough to drive daily for me. - Fun yes, but un comfortable most definately.

How many of us have bone stock TT's? Some... but few. Add some comfy seats, carpet, and a snazzy radio. (+$1,500) and WAM@!#!~ Daily driver friendly... AND friggin sweet ride. We mod our for performance because it's already damn comfy. well the Exige-S is already performance ready... so add a few comfort mods and you got yourself an effin awesome car.
I'd do it...
and when a chick see's you pull up in an Exige-S... she'll wanna do it too

^ yes it is.
it's a lightweight 1.8L toyota-enginevehicle. it only gets chaotic past 6.5k rpm.
my celica MPG > my TT MPG

How about comfort? Or how easy it is to just get in a car that doesn't come up to your waist?

I guess it depends how big/tall you are.
If you're a young, short, skinny asian dude you have an inherent compatibility with the Elise apparently:

Lightweight would probably make for skittishness in rain I'm guessing. Another thing to consider if you're driving it everyday in traffic...how would you like to get hit by another car in one?
I'm pretty sure I'd take it over a viper if I could fit (6'2"). It's more classy and elegant.

well in this day and age,
MPG is pretty much what is going throughmy head when looking for a daily driver. now that the price of oil haspeaked to an all-time high, i'd rather look past all the luxuries andamnenities and still have a fat wallet as opposed to sitting in utter comfort in my parked car with no gas/money. [&:]

i was speaking in terms of comfort/convenience. a lotus really has neither of those things. they are very nice and i'd love to have a couple but could you imagine actually running errands in one. i know they are practical from a mechanical point of view but not from a ergonomic one... unless of course you're some kind of contortionist.

I would say buy a lotus elise and put a honda k20 series motor in the car. It will rock your world. A couple of my friends have them and after you do the swap they do high 11's all day with only 220 hp but the car weights nothing. With the k20 in a elsie you will definitely beat an exige( which are overrated). Look up under youtube and find out for yourself. If you buy an elise for about 22k and the motor/swap will run you about 5k, for 27k you will have a fast car. Im thinking about putting a k20 in my 89 lotus esprit even though my car runs 13.2 at the track stock from the factory. You can go wrong with a honda motor.
