Default New owner intro and sanity check

Hello all,
I recently bought a 2001 225Q Roadster with 50k miles and would like to share a few of my observations and questions. I have coveted this car for a long time and had done a great deal of research before purchasing it but have still been surprised by just how cantankerous this car can be. I love it anyway, it keeps me out of trouble on the weekends. I get compliments and questions about the car on an almost weekly basis. They are very rare down here for some reason, we only have 2 Audi dealers in south Louisiana so that could be part of it.

So, any way, here is what has been done so far....
Partially debadged (left the rings on front and rear)
Forge DV
Glow Shift Boost Gauge (vent mounted)
Valve Cover Gaskets
Steering angle sensor
Long Accel sensor
Haldex oil
Convertible top switch
Evap solenoid
Spare Key (shockingly expensive!)
Oil catch can (on order)

These are the things I want to do next but was hoping for some advice on the most logical order to do them in....
Timing Belt
Temp sensor
APR remap
New spark plugs
MBC
W/M injectors
Wheel Spacers
Tires (Can any one suggest a set of all season tires that are really quiet?)
Angel Eyes
Paint the headlights

That should be about it, I hope

And another thing....Has any one investigated doing an antenna delete? I hate having that stupid thing poking off my rear end. It looks worse than a visible panty line!

TB, temp sensor and plugs all at the same time first then a remap next.

The coupe doesen't have the antenna (its in the glass). I would suspect you could get a really short one that just screws on.

Tires: I am running all season Kumho Ecsta ASX's. Good on dry, OK in wet and snow, not great. Only $79 or so on Tire Rack

Thanks for the advice, it is nice to have a double check some times. That is a great price on tires but wet performance is a concern down here. I would have said that snow is not but then we got nearly a whole inch this weekend!

Antenna on the roof of the coupe is a cellphone antenna.

And I agree, its ugly.

Interview with mechanic yesterday and he seemed very familiar with the TT, much more so than the dealership! I will be getting the TB done next week and will be glad to get that worry out of the way. The back ordered catch can is canceled. Seems that TurboXs has discontinued them, so will have to choose another. I am open to suggestions. I have also been looking into antenna relocation and found this on Crutchfield

Now I will have to figure out what to do with the hole that will be left in the rear fender

Got the timing belt and thermostat done yesterday and am glad to not to worry have to worry about that any more. It cleared up my temperature problems and she runs dead in the middle of the gauge now. I have been having some low boost issues and had them look at that also. I am only getting about 10psi. I looked for leaks and they did also but have not found any. They are suggesting that it is the MAF. I ran a few logs but am not really sure what values are normal....so here we go

2nd gear run to redline
peak maf 177.3 g/s
peak command pressure 1960 mbar
peak press at intercooler 1860 mbar
peak press at manifold 900 mbar
peak n75 duty cycle 66.7%

Thinking about putting in the manual boost controller any way just to see what happens.

I am a moron...just found a mbar to psi converter 900mbar=13.053psi so that is pretty close to normal I think. Will pop in there and check the gauge and lines from the FPR and see if that is the problem.

1 bar = 14.5psi little easier to remember than mbar stuff. Like knowing that your 3 bar fuel pressure regulator is a 43.5psi fuel pressure regulator.

Been a while since I looked at those blocks, but you may also need to adjust for ambient air pressure depending on what you're looking at. 1 bar/14.5psi is roughly air pressure at sea level. If you're running 1 bar of boost, absolute pressure would be 2 bar since you're pressurizing air thats already at 1 bar..

BTW, nice sig.
