I dont use an oiled air filter.....The maf was really clean. Sometimes if the car sits for a long period of time, liek over night, it wil not start on the first try. This happened liek 3 or 4 times recently when the cel was on. I did clean the maf since I had it out, but if it comes back I guess I just better order a new one. It was brand new when i got it, shrink wrapped to a piece of cardboard with the audi part slip inside.....i just dont want to drop more money if I am over looking something. Before I replaced it I got 3 codes, p0102, p1128 and p1136. Now I am just getting a p1136.

We do OBDII. PA is messed up. We do emissions testing based on county population. I live in a county that requires it because we have some cities that are 100,000+ people. 15 minutes up the road is another county, on the other side of the mountain. That is where I will be getting my inspection done. He does not hava an emissions tester because his county does not require it because it is all mountains and has little population. If he was doing it, it wouldn't be much of a problem. We would clear it right in the garage and do the test. My concern is driving to an emissions test place here and having it come on while driving there. The fact still remains that I have been driving my car under these conditions for far too long as it is, and inspection isnt that big of a deal. But that is how emissions is done in PA, if it has OBDII and is in one of the populated counties, it is an OBDII test. Originally they were gonna go with dyno style, think the cost was too high maybe. And they do a gas cap test. Anything without OBDII gets a visual inspection, anything with less than 5000 miles annually is emission exempt.

Pay the 90 bucks and get the one from Cincys post that is the best suggestion, put rush shipping on it and call it a day, as for the Maf that you have right now maybe you can use it in some home decorating or something...

I took it to a place that works on VW and AUDIs only today to get scanned. He told me it was the MAF and I said I replaced it. He said it could be a vacuum leak and I told him I already said that. I thought the scan might have directed me a little more where the fault was coming from. I figured that was the next thing to check. I asked him if he thought it was the O2 and he said it is most likey the maf or vac leak. At 65 bucks and hour, I thought I would check here first. Car has 48k on it.

Found cincys post, it says the sensor itself will fit these mafs:

06A 906 461
06A 906 461A
06A 906 461D
058 133 471A

mine is marked 06A 906 461E

I know my 225 housing is different than the smaller 180, but dont know if the sensor will work with it.

I just called the website that offers the sensors for 90 bucks. He said they will not work with our cars, only TDI cars.
