i am looking for a 3" hi-flo stainless 304 or 321 grade downpipe for my 01 225hp quattro TT, i like the 42DD setup and fitment is said to be excellent BUT, it WILL NOT last long in pa. weather, i had coated mild steel headers, they peeled after 2-3 yrs then rust set in, i am not badmouthing 42DD just being factual, i will do it once and it will never even surface rust, i want to connect to the borla 2.5 catback already on the car, i would appreciate a where to buy this if anyone knows

thats no bargain, look at other downpipes with cats in 304 stainless about $500, granted the 2 piece setup is harder to make but after they have a pattern setup they are ALL the same, IMHO that aluminized steel downpipe + cat is overpriced, with the coating it is in the 304 stainless price range, its nice that they made them but they are taking advantage of no competition, APR only offers a full 3" system

APR sells their complete extreme quality 304 stainless 3" turbo back system for $1829 and a 2.5" catback same quality 304 stainless for $929, 10% off at times, xmas specials etc, surely a 3" downpipe with hi-flo cat in 304 stainless can be profitably sold for $900 or less, 42DD aluminized mild steel would have holes in it here in pa in 5 yrs or less, coating adds little, jet hot optional coating $120 guaranteed for life ???? they recoat and pay shipping first year after that you pay shipping, not to mention removal + install time + cost, not a good deal.i had done that once before, remove V-8 headers send for free recoat $70 shipping paid by me!! that makes a more expensive 304 stainless setup CHEAPER, if you keep your car 5 yrs or more, not to mention the recoats that WILL be necessary to keep rust away and have look nice.

still watching, called APR today about a 3" hi-flo downpipe to connect to 2.5" slip connector on car, only need cut pipe short and add 2.5" adaptor, told adam sales guy they are loosing business, i would easily give $900 for a once and done 300 series stainless setup, all adam said he agreed it would be easy to do, PLEASE!!!!
