Don't feel too bad. Your TB is done with no problems, no headaces and noting to worry about... isn't that alone worth atleast $200? You didn't get screwed that bad, it's just most people here do stuff themselves. Concider it an TB job for the average audi owner.

edit: ofcourse, no offence... I concider the average audi owner a 55 year old with no mechanic background or without the time.

Yea but the problem with dealers is that no one checks over the work that was done. The only person that checks is the owner, so if dealer tech messed up or part went bad/oem defect etc, the owner will find out soon enough.

^^ That's one way to look at it. The dealer does these all day, and should know all the secrets, however you are going to pay more.
If you aren't going to attempt doing yourself, best to develop a relationship with a good performance shop that works on similar imports so that when you need them for the big stuff, you have an option. Most of these guys started with the dealer and are now on their own.
I prefer to give my money to a small business trying to make it than to some mega dealer.

after you do one yourself you quickly see how the dealer charges that much...it is a major PITA my clutch and flywheel were much easier to install...really the only hard part is putting the belt back on and making sure its correct timing
