Thumbs down Never ever go to the Dealer shop for TBWP

OMG Dealer shop charges me $1114.51 for timing belt & water pump.

<List>
Tooth Belt 59.69
Water Pump 85.68
Belt Damper 133.49
Tensioner 94.73
Coolant add 24.10
Coolant 118.50
--------------------
parts total 410.80 + Labor

they just replaced 4 things (No Tensioner Idler, Tensioner Damper, Crankshaft Seal , Bolts, Thermostat Housing, Hose Clamp..) and only cam side belt replaced...I can tell my other timing belt has to be replaced soon.....lol
What a rip off....

If u wanna change ur timing belt & water pump, buy TBWP kit @ online and go to the local shop. Local shop gonna charge you much less... and u can have better parts.

and + dum a** dunno any thing about my coolant leaks.... it has been 4days in the shop for nothin'

Well according to that invoice they replaced everything you said they didn't replace. There's only one timing belt unless you mean your accessory belt which is really easy to replace yourself, ~45min total. Sounds like they shafted you on the parts cost though. The labor cost was actually very good considering it's a dealer.

It's a bit high for a 180, it'd be ok if it was a 225.

I was quoted at $901 today for parts and labor at a local Audi performance shop. I have a 180.

I still think that's super expensive though, but it's mainly labor costs.

sooo.... you got work done w/o getting a quote on it first?

try this...

"mental note: don't EVER get work done w/o a quote first"

That should save you some trouble in the future.

BTW.... 118 bucks for coolant!!!!!

I have 2 gallons of the stuff, I bought it at the dealer. Cost me $50. Considering you're still gonna cut 50% with water, I have WAAAY more than I will need for the next couple years. What the hell did they do to hit you for $118 for coolant?
