Need feedback on LUK Flywheel/Clutch
Hey fellas, new to the forum here...
A friend of mine has a 2000 TT 1.8 w/ 130k+ miiles and her clutch just went. She took it to a local shop, and they quoted her $1500, so I thought I'd get involved.
My mechanic explained to me that with these 5-speed trannys in this car, there is a DMF (dual mass flywheel) that needs to be replaced along with the clutch. Now I understand the price. He quoted me $1300 for the job ($750 for parts).
Here's my question: I have found a LUK clutch & flywheel replacement online for $370 shipped. It is a direct OEM replacement, which is fine as she has no mods to the vehicle. Have any of you had any experience with this brand? Are they decent? Keep in mind she is an average driver, not too aggressive at all.
I have searched the forums, but when I type "LUK clutch" in the search tool, it gives me ALL posts with the word "clutch"
Any feedback is appreciated.
