Default Need confirmation...

hey everyone, haven't been here in a while. been extremely busy...anyway, here's the skinny; i've got an mkII 02 tt, just recently changed the oil (and by recently i mean at 10am today), car ran fine when i took her out but now won't get going. car turns over, engine sounds fine starting then shuts off. tried numerous times to start and the same result. engine gets going then another kick in the *****. i've done a search and these 2 threads are what i came up with: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...+shutting+audi and https://www.audiforums.com/forum/sho...+shutting+audi. what i need confirmation in is, has anyone really figured out what the root of the problem is. according to these 2 threads, it could either be a bad TB (which i'll be doing very soon) or oil leak which considering i just changed the oil, i made sure there was none; or a bad oil pump. what's the verdict?? any light shed on this subject would be a tremendous help. thanks

Hey JR! I'm going to go ahead and assume you have gas in the car, put the oil cap back on, and the dip stick reads full.

When you say the engine gets going and then cuts out; do you mean it will actually start and then stall out, or is it doing something else? When this happens is the dash showing any unusual lights ie: EPC, Check engine? What grade oil did you use? Stock oil filter?

Try to find someone with vag-com that can scan your TT for codes.
Good luck with getting her going again!
