Default For my fellow 180hp (FWD)'ers

In the pursuit to find an already manufactured 3 inch cat-back for our particular model I have encountered something: Nobody wants to make one! Maybe I'm behind on times but I'm pretty sure I have searched this thing to death.

I've noticed that most of you end up making your own. I say, great for you. I can do many things on a car but the one thing I am terrible at is welding. No matter what I do, I just can't seem to get it down. I have repaired $60,000 weapon system cards and flown military helicopters but when it comes to welding, I'm like a virgin experiencing his first time: painful and sloppy.

Thanks to some recommendations from the guys at 42DD and Ronnie at Eurojet confirming, the MkIV catback is exactly the same minus the tip. Hangers and all in the exact same place. Plus they do military discounts so I just got a 3 inch stainless cat-back for under $500.

For anyone interested I plan on taking pictures when I can find a lift to install and maybe even a sound clip. I had the cat taken off a while ago but I think I'm going to put a high flow back on.

Cool bro, definately interested in seeing the install. I have been looking for an exhaust for a while now.

So where did you buy it from in the end?

I'm sorry, I just re-read and noticed I didn't mention where I ordered it from. I ordered with Ronnie at Eurojet Racing.

Alright, I just received the cat-back exhaust and am going to put it on today. Here is Eurojet's MkIV stainless cat-back exhaust.

Here we go. I was able to convince a local exhaust shop to let me use their life since I have no equipment here where I live. Part of the condition of this was that they had to make sure it kept a catalytic converter to avoid getting a possible $10,000 fine. That's why I decided to go with a High Flow cat.

Factory exhaust with 3 inch electronic cut-out.

Cutting the 3 inch down pipe I put on the car a year ago.

Getting everything level

This was the first problem area but finally I was able to get the clearance to work.

The original weld point had to be cut and rewelded for the exhaust to work.

About 6-8 inches had to be cut off of the tip to get close to the correct angle.

The Factory cover worked with no modifications.

Relocation of the 2nd O2.

Overall it was a pretty simple install. It sounds amazing and aggressive but not bumble bee-ish. For the price, I would recommend it!
