My Eclipse makes that same sound the sucking howl.
I kinda like it personally.
Can't wait to get my modshack intake installed.

my filter sounds likea black hole and thats at idle with the hood up. Sounds like you can suck in small children and pets when you go by.

Open element intakes are all pretty loud, even more so on non-turbo cars (valvetrain noise and such).

The turbo kinda acts like a muffler on the intake side and changes the dynamic of the sound. OEM airboxes are pretty much designed to keep noise down more then efficiency, so now your just hearing what the motor really sounds like. Get used to it, its beautiful.

Sweet, I had no idea what it was. So the stripping replaces the weather stripping by the lower windshield? Is that the piece that lowers temps like 18degrees that he sells for around 10bucks. I dont think i paid for it. Sweet. I just ordered his vent gauge adapter. Its gonna look sick

you should actually gain some mpg, not lose them.

Ok so I put the strip along my windshield, i can hear the engine a lot more. Also the howl went away i havent heard it since i upgraded my DV. I dont know if the two have a connection or not but its gone. And man once i step on it my turbo hits this awesome high pitched squeel, I LOVE IT! I would def. recommend the VTDA. Plus steve is awesome.
