To answer the original question, on a previous car, I did cut the shifter down. Took the original **** off, hacked off about an inch with a hacksaw and then installed a Momo ****.

Drove the car like that until I sold it with no problems and it looked considerably better.

I find the throw and the stick itself on the TT to be pretty short already though.

sparco was ~$70





differance is between 1.25" and 1.5"

How much does the new shifter really cut down on your 0=60 time?
or is it more a preferance mod?

Blackraptor- The throw is a tad shorter, a short shifter will engage each gear faster. But you could lower the 0-60 time since you are in gear faster.

Sheepcan - like i said just above, it is shorter. Just think about the law of levers. 1.5" shorter would take off maybe 3" to 4" off the throw from 1st to 2nd gear.
