Default Loud Exhuast install

Well I'm having my car in for service and they also do exhuast work so i decided to ask them what it would cost to remove the muffler and put straight pipes on.
I would leave the cat and the resinator alone so what i'm looking to do is just get rid of the big heavy muffler and let the car flow better.
Also found some awesome crome tips.
He's going to do it super cheap so i figured it's worth trying if i hate it i'll have very little money invested but i like loud exhuast I have header back straights on my truck right now.

nice!
when it's done, you'd better put up some sound clips!

Legal long as you have the cats on and the DB level doesn't get too high.
My truck is over the DB level so i have to be a bit careful with that.
But I just did cat back straight pipes on my dads duramax turbodiesel truck and it sounded awesome you can really hear the turbo.

Best I can tell the TT will be ok as far as DB levels go. Turbo cars don't seem to be as loud as the exhuast running through just headers.

Once i finish i'll get up sound clips. Car goes in a week from Friday for Haldex tranny rear gear case front gear case fluid changes.
So i think while there under there i'll do cat back straight pipes on it. with the resonator and cat still on there it should be loud but not to the point where it's a problem. it won't be able worse then the cat back straight pipe mustangs running around.

Dude, you have to remember to put up clips. I never thought of that but it sounds like an awesome idea. Also let me know what it's gonna cost. I bet it would sound sweet with a nice downpipe as well.

Another thought, do you think there will be enough back pressure for straight pipes? I'm gonna take my exhaust off from the cat back and see how that sounds next week.

ive been thinking about just cutting off the muffler and put a pipe from the resonator to the back as well,
but i would want to know what it sounds like first.

its a turbo car, you dont want back pressure. the turbo gives plenty.
