He just joined vwvortex and i wouldnt mind taking his car for a spin. Just thought i had to post it for those one this forum that have considered lotus once or twice

 

well theoretically its an Audi with a lotus shell but very nice

 

I thoughtLotus used Toyota power- the 1.9 liter 4 cyl?

 

they use a reworked toyota 4cyl engine. But i guess he dumped that or got this one as a kit car

 

Probably a stolen / blown stock motor.

Why replace when you can upgrade?

I think he got a kit car meaning he got the shell and he supplied the powertrain

 

the lotus elise and the exige both use the 2zzge engine (1.8L N/A180hp VVTL-i) which come from the Celica GTS, Corolla XRS and the Matrix XRS. the engine was developed by yamaha and toyota, and is one hell of an engine especially around 6800 rpm to 8000 rpm when lift kicks in. Though Lotus reworked the internals to bump approx. 10 more bhp out of the engine? the only real problem with the 2zz is the lack of tq. (130lb-ft. stock)

it's ok though, Lotus has the Exige-S... the supercharged 2zzge version

doesnt take to much torque to get a 1 ton car moving. The car stock runs like low 14's

 

I would swap my TT for this Lotus as well.

 

I think you can find a few of those here in the states.
