Dude, seriously... you need to link them to this thread so they can see us laugh at them. The TT is far from a "gay" car or slow. The car is reliable but the few things you should already know about. But the engine is rock solid. All you have to do is change the rods and nothing else and they engine is capable of handling over 600whp easy. The tuning is just getting to the point of not needing a standalone to make huge power (over 500whp) safely and reliably. As for cost, mine hasnt really needed anything that wasnt out of the norm. The cost of upgrades isnt that bad either if you know what to buy. Not to mention $ vs $, the TT will make more power and easier than a Tib could ever dream of making. Not to mention, 11's isnt that hard to make with a 1.8t, basically all you need is a gt30 series turbo or even a fully worked stock turbo and 75-100shot of nitrous.

well that price being offered for your car seems completely normal when you are trying to trade something in at a dealer.
they are always gonna try to rip you off on the trade, because they know you just want to get rid of your current car and step into something new.
every time ive ever been to a dealer with a trade they try and do that.
ex: when i went to buy my TT, i had a mk4 99.5 GTI 2.0 with 120K that KBB and edmunds both listed at around 3500 trade-in value.
they offered me 1000. i had negotiated the price on the TT down from 17.5 to 14.5, so i was okay with a little bit of getting screwed on that because i sort-of got them back by getting 3K knocked off the price. at that time, every other TT i was looking at in similar condition was like 19K +. so i think i got a good deal.

thats what i was saying in the thread... mod for mod a TT will reach 220+ whp long before a tiburon. To break 220+whp in a tib you have to drop quite a bit of money. 3-4k for a s/c and then (I/H/E fuel tuner, injectors), or somewhere in the 4-8k range all motor...
they all just think tibs are the $hit... There are more riced out tiburons every day *hangs head* its sad... I guess hyundai became better than audi at some point in time when i wasnt looking haha

Just to give you an idea
t3t4 50trim kit = $3k and will make 350fwhp on stock rods, 400fwhp maxed out
GT turbo kits = $4-4.5k and will make 300-600fwhp and all you need is some $350 rods and you are golden.
Of course when you are trying to break 400whp, headwork, cams, intake manifold, equal length turbo manifolds, etc will all give nice gains and become needed. But if you are for 400whp or less, a turbo and few extra bolt ons will get you there.

well my goal would be 250-300whp.
i will spend alot less with a tt. Then if i go to the track i wont run 14's at 100+mph because i cant get traction lol.
plus im sure it is better in the snow... [8D]

Then all you will need is a gt28rs or a gt2871r if you want room for more power. Both have very little lag. Both will get you into the 12's.
BTW, even the FWD TT's are great in the snow.

Wow, those people are dumb. Is everyone on there a closed minded teenager that dont know anything about cars? Still dont know where all this gay or slow stuff is coming from. Sure, its an underpowered for its look stock but that all changes when you get a chip and exhaust. Not to mention the prices are very cheap and they think its still like $20k for a 2000 which can be had for close to $10 in great shape.
Oh, and for the one person that compared it to a 350, the TT was out 3 years before them and and racing before that. The Z is basically a copy of the TT for obvious reasons.

A) 95% of TT drivers are gay.
B) I bet that car has a salvage title or 250,000 miles on it. Or both.
C) 'Deals' that sound too good to be true are just that."
