Does anyone know how to pull the vent out to install this. Is there a special tool to pull your vents??

There is a very technical tool used to do this. Doctors refer to them as Phalanges...

Step 1, strategically place Phalanges around the edge of the aluminum ring.
Step 2, with steady, even pressure, apply a "pull force" to the aluminum ring. Note that a sensation may be felt on the Phalanges at this time.
Step 3, stop pulling when the vent is in your hand

Yes, it is that easy (and Phalanges = fingertips)...

Still not sure why everyone is so ga-ga over this. It still cant do all that a vagcom cable from Ross-tech can do. I guess people rather have flashy stuff than what they really need.

Always there and always at hand is extremely convenient. Also saves mounting a couple gauges that rarely need to be used. Also of note, upcoming software release will support "limit" changes to gauges. If you reach a threshold value on a particular gauge (oil temp, for instance) that gauge will pop on screen...

Replacement for VAGCOM, no. WAY more useful than any other gauge you can stick in a vent, Heck Yes!
