Got a problem. Device won't turn on. I thought it was my actual port but I pulled off the cover to look at the wires & I don't see a problem.I havn't install it in a vent but it just doesn't seem to turn on.

Could you please PM or e-mail me a phone number where I can reach you?

OK, we solved Wintermute's issue, I had this issue when I did some testing as well. Seems shipping the unit is allowing the connection between the LCD and the PCB to vibrate free. If your unit does not function when you plug it in, please check the socket/plug where the screen attaches to the PCB. One side of the screen is just doublestick tape, the other side has the connector.
It should look like this:

It should NOT look like this (lifted):

If it is lifted off, press gently on the LCD screen and pop the socket back on to the board. You should be fine then. If that is the problem, try putting a dab of glue or caulk on the outside of the socket connector to keep it from popping out. Once you mount it in the vent, it will be held in place as well.

so after having it in and using it a little i have decided it is absolutely amazing. SO glad i got one haha. All i need to do is figure out this kline thing and it will be perfection.
thanks again.

The cables are a purchased part, so I don't know what you would need. I do know the pinouts, though, so if you get "lost" I can assist by letting you know what DB9 pins go to what OBD pins. You only need 4 pins. On the OBD they are 4, 5, 7 and 16. 4 and 5 are ground, 16 is power, and 7 is the k-line signal.

Well, here's the rest of that...
4, 5, 7 and 16 on the OBD correspond to 2, 1, 4 and 9 on the DB9. The rest of the lines are not used on the liquidTT, so I don't know for sure what OBD signals are in there.
Of course, you are an electrical engineer, so I am sure you could have easily figured that out with the multimeter you carry around in your pocket ; )
