Got a fix-it ticket for Third Brake Light being barely visible under the tint of the rear windshield. Rear tint isn't illegal yet, here in this beloved Police State of California.. and it looks damn good on the back of my car. Wondering if there is an LED third brake light assembly specific for the TT and not some chintzy Pep Boys led strip. From what I understand, the entire brake light assembly needs to be replaced and changing just bulbs won't suffice.. Is this correct?

Bonus Question regarding legal issue:

So I forgot about this ticket and the date to appear in court was on 7/30/13. I was able to file an extension online just a few minutes ago, new date is 9/30/13. Do you think that I will still have a failure to appear/additional fine against me? Or is still being able to file an extension online a good sign that I don't have to appear in front of a judge/pay failure to appear as long as I take care of it ASAP. I'll call the court tomorrow, but in the age of the Internet, who has time to wait?
