Default RE: Leak?

is it the hose with the check valve on it?
if this is the one that ya'll are talking about with the braids it cost me 140.00 at the stealership, which after i puled it out, i discovered that i couldhave probably most likely rebuilt it myself with some silicone hoses, far cheaper and better alternative.
mow that i have a new one on and an old one in the box, i'll go ahead and rig one with silicone hoses for a back up.

The top/bottom are the EGR/Combi (exhaust gas recirc) valve and are used to bring exhaust back into the engine to warm it up faster. Mine was broken off and when i fixed it, warm ups were super fast compared to before. Only diff is my 180 has it on the back of the engine.

The middle picture is the FPR, and very important that line is not damaged.

You can pull themoff the check them, the cloth is just to protect it from the heat. If they are cracked or torn, they need replaced asap. The EGR could most likely be trimmed and reinstalled

The EGR is frayed the most & the FPR is starting to. I really don't want to trim & reinstall, rather something that would hold alot better than these.

Just pull the end off and take it out of the holder on the side if you need to. Just trim the 1/4-1/2" off and slide it back on. It will take you 30 secs tops and would fix that problem

Smells like oil. I took off the lines today & it's far beyond cutting so now looks like I'm ordering parts.

You do know you could just get some rubber line from a parts store insead. They might even have silcone line also. The problem with the stock is that the braided cloth actually makes it worse in the long run more than helping.

Yup that one that busted on you is the same one that busts on me all the time. Like nate said, the cloth braid ones do more damage than good. they get wet and hold it. the moisture decays the rubber or rots it somehow and it blows. Once it blows, the air coming out frays the braid. I friggin hate that line.

Hose size is 3.5mm

I ordered silicone replacements for all the small hoses in my engine bay.

Sizes:
3.5mm
6mm
8mm

Got it all from www.hightempsilicone.com
It hasnt shown up yet but i just ordered it two days ago. They have it in a few colors and silicone types.
