Just picked up a 2002 TT 225 coupe
#2
I just picked up a very clean 1st-owner-with-all-dealer-maintenance-records TT225 coupe this past weekend. Picked it up in Los Angeles and drove it home to NorCal.
The car is a blast to drive. It's nothing like the MK4 GTI 1.8t I used to have many years ago despite how much they share. I'm having as much fun in it as an E46 M3 I had for 8yrs and recently sold.
Everything is stock and original, but the one thing it doesn't have is the rear parcel shelf. I really want one for privacy for stuff I might have in the trunk. I'm thinking about picking one up at the pick-n-pull, but what should I expect to pay for it?
Another option I was thinking about was just fabricating my own - either out of plywood or plexiglass covered in automotive/speaker box carpet. But I haven't seen one in person and don't know how its attached.
Can anyone post some pics of the rear parcel shelf and how it's attached to the rear trunk? All the pics I see on the internet show the trunk open and only focus on the trunk itself. Does it clip onto the trunk? Or hang from string points? Is it fixed firmly in place?
TIA!!!
