RE: Just got a new old TT w/ a few questions. (long)
By open do you mean physically open the box or just remove the baffles and things blocking it? I think it already had the baffles removed before I got it. I opened it up to change out the airfilter (which looked brand new) and it looked like someone removed all the plastic pieces the factory puts into make it quieter.
Oh and about the maf, I went ahead and drove with the vag-com attached yesterday. Idle gave me around 5.2 g/s airflow and it varied after that according to engine rpm and load. Does this sound right?
Just a word of warningwhen you do seafoam in the crankcase... it severely dilutes your oil. My oil came out after it was done with the consistency of water when before it was like a thin syrup. I would put it a much thicker oil first if I was going to leave it there for any length of time.
About leaks... Is there any known places I should be looking for? It can easily be heard when the windows are down and inside the car.
Is there an inexpensive boost gauge that I can get? Can vag-com measure boost at all?
Thanks guys!
