RE: Just bought my first Audi TT!! Got Questions - Timing Belt!
Well thanks for the advise everybody, but I just can't wait. I flew an employee of mine to miami today to pick the car up. He is about 400 miles into the trip and he says the car is flawless. Here is a link to the car

I consider myself to be fairly mechanically inclinded, and I am considering doing the timing belt change at my shop. I have found a kit that includes:
[*]1 Long Life Timing Belt [*]1 Timing Belt Tensioner Idler[*]1 Timing Belt Tensioner Damper (w/ Idler)[*]1 Heavy Duty Water Pump (w/ Improved Steel Impeller)[*]1 Front Crankshaft Seal (Improved 'Viton' Seal Material)[*]1 Camshaft Seal (Improved 'Viton' Seal Material) [*]3 Liters OEM Pentosin G11 BLUE Antifreeze (2-1.5L Bottles – Appropriate Amount for Complete Cooling System Flush)[*]2 Motor Mount to Frame Rail Bolts[*]2 Motor Mount to Engine Bracket Stretch Bolts (w/ Thread Locker Applied)[*]4 Serpentine Pulley Bolts (Lower Crank)[*]1 FREE Serpentine Belt[*]1 FREE Thermostat w/ O-Ring
It also includes the rental of a tool needed to do the change. The auction can be found here:

Can any of you attest for the difficultity of this procedure?

Just peaked at the ebay listing for your car...
Right off the bat you're going to need some tires.
The two pictures they show of the tread, yeah two different tires with one being borderline bald.
Also the battery cover is missing; I'd ask if they had any electrical issues with the car (aka why is it missing).
From the pictures that's all that I could see. Best of luck with your new car!
The timing belt kit looks legit.
My only gripe is the $350 deposit (not included in the price) for whatever tool it is you'd be borrowing.
Check out www.dieselgeek.com or www.ecstuning.com
They have timing belt kits, and are reputable companies.
I think ECS still has their free shipping deal going on.

Ugh!
But hey at least now you can get some ultra high performance tires (might as well get some new wheels while you're at it) for the TT.
