Default Just acquired a TT. got some questions HELP

just got a hold of a 03 180 hp automatic coupe. got a good deal on it only has 15k mi

just wondering the limits of the vehilce, with the stock turbo.

most likely lookin into chip/intake. possible exhaust and free mods.

i know the block is forged and a good foundation for power cuz it's forged.

basically contemplating workin it up and hoping for a 13 second slip (stock turbo)
or is the trans gonna hold it back a bunch and just leave it stock?

any help is appreciated...

TIA

I dont know about the autos but the 5 speed car of that ...
i heard the stock turbo will run 20 pounds of boost.. that is alot if youve ever seen the sixe of it considering its about the size of my -female fist ha! But i do remember reading somewhere 14.5 was all it could handle. Now imagining it could run 20 pounds of boost of course youd need to get bigger injectors and things of that nature..

Now a chip is about a 30 hp gain... your probably run about 1.1 bars or about 16 pounds of boost with it and the hp gain from an intake i dont know its not much.. your TT has a stock 2.5 exhaust and borla is the more popular way to go.
Free mods.. hm.. dont know of any

and intake, chip, exhaust, injectors maybe, and hm.. some Slicks ...Might get you in the high high 13's ha..

i didn't think it was gonna be such a hurdle for a sorry slow 13 sec pass...but since it will be...this car is staying maad stock then. At least it looks nice....so i guess i'm just gonna have fun with my r1.

damn i wish this TT wasnt auto

as soon as i get my car chipped i am getting it dyno'd and ill be sure to post the results..
but hey if you invest inder $450 dollars in a intake, exhaust, and a upgradded DV you'll notice a little more kick. I think its worth it!

if i invest a buncha money and it's in the mid 14's or low 14's it's a waste IMO.

this isn't my daily driver or racetoy. if 13's were a possiblity i'd be all for it. it's pretty much a spare car

just thought it'd be a nice project to build

You may be able to find someone upgrading beyond a K04 turbo, and be able to pick it up cheap, that would be a good start toward your goals. K04 is a direct swap from the K03 have now, you'll need to upgrade computer, and it shouldn't be any problem to get the car chipped for the K04.
