I have the stock ipod connector (Audi Music Interface) that was dealer installed. Works great w/ my iPod, but I recently bought an iPhone 3G and when I plug it in, it says that this accessory was not made for the iPhone (or something to that affect), anyway, it will play music, but will not charge my phone (which would be a huge benefit). Do I understand correctly that I just need to swap out the connectors to use my iPhone? If so, where can I get one?

 

THERE IS A EUROPEAN IPHONE ADAPTER THAT MAY WORK. If you call Audi of America (AoA) they will be able to tell you for sure, considering it is an Audi product.

I do get the same error message plus another one saying it wont charge the phone. According to this article, it should charge. Still researching though.

actually if you mount i sideways, and have a thick leather case on it, you can jam it in between the metal stereo door and the bottom of the head unit.

 

like that only sideways, and higher. i still think in the visor is the best option

 

oooh what is that one above? does it allow any blue tooth connectivity or simple external speakers so it can be used as a hands free kit?
