Default intercooler diy

This may be a dumb question but im going to be doing a custom fmic on my 225 tt. Here is the dumb question, since there are two fmic, that means i have a inlet and outlet on both, one for hotair one for colder air on each right. Well with going to a single fmic, i would only have a single inlet and outlet. What do i do use a inlet from say the passenger side and oulet on the driver side? Please dont flame me this a noob just trying to get a little more information.
