For any of those who were following the intake thread vwvortex or have any interest in purchasing an itake manifold, the results are finally in. Just remember that these are just flow test resultsto show the overall flow and flow by runners.

the results and operator comments may be surprising to some.

So with all that said and done how do you go about determining which one is best for your car and its mods? And does a bigger intake manifold mean more fuel being consumed and what are the hp gains in general?

for someone like you steve a good small port would make some good numbers. You dont have to go nuts and spend $1000+ on one but due to the results the ABD is better than people have been giving it credit for, but a rmr or a 007 will give better gains.

Once you get into the higher 300hp numbers a big port head (aeb) will make far better gains. The stock intake and headstarts becoming a restriction once you start getting into the 300-350hp range. Once you open up the head's flow is when you start making big gains but spend big $$. This is how a honda makes great power because their heads far outflow ours, even the big port.

Ok so I have been looking and this is a pretty noobish question, but where do I find the 007 intake man, and the RMR. Is the 007 from USRT? Or... im so lost, haha.

Thanks Cincy, I might as well make the intake mani my next mod sonce Ive done the exhuast and all. So the RMR or 007 will be good for an upbeat 180? And mine os a transverse engine so Im not sure if that matters. Do the kits come with new railings and all or are the stock good?

the rmr does come w/ a new rail but i believe you can get your stock ones to work with the rest. Plus most you can choose which side tb you want and these are all transverse manifolds.

This is on a mitsu MHI 20G turbo and just replacing his old aftermarket intake manifold (Big Port)
007mani dyno'd today. R32 t'body.
Before

After

same boost (ignore the text on the plots, old data left there from previous runs)
Needed 750cc Genesis injectors to juice it.. previous 620's did'nt cut it
