Why don't you try a short piece 2-3" of rubber vacuum line of small enough diameter to fit the rigid line snuggly inside. That will let you bend it which ever way you need.

That's what I did. You can even get like 1/8" ID washer tubing.
VWs in the mid '70s used rigid vacuum lines that had rubber tubing for the junction points and bends. It was a stupid design because the rigid stuff would break and crumble after 5 or 6 years. That was the era when VW almost lost it.

I ended up putting a 6mm rubber tubing over the screw on fitting and then slipped in the hard tubing into the rubber tubing and zip tied the
whole thing. So far so good. Working like a charm
