LOLthese are NOT german sports cars,if they were, then that means the europeansdont know how to buildem cuz these things do not perform like a sports car should. I see my tt as a nice little daily driver with just a little pep, and great looks.kinda like a german version of the civic or crx (except a lil nicer looking) with a different flavor, nothing wrong with that.

P.S- with all this health talk about how its wrong to drink "pop" This car comes with a cigarette lighter AND an ashtray, lots of auto manufacturers that care about its customers dont put ashtrays in their cars.My guess is that the germans just didnt have enough room to put proper cup holders in our audis and the reason a 7series BMW doesnt have proper cup holders is because they dont know how to build a comfortable car.If they were really meant to just be "driven" they wouldnt put ANY cupholders big or small in them. Its just half assing
What are you talking about, the TT is the same as a Civic or a CRX? Man do you have it backwards. Lets compare a 40,000 dollar car to a 17,000 dollar car? Nope I dont understand where you are comming from. Tell me what kind of proof that you have that shows that a TT is just a glorified german civic or crx. You should be careful posts like that may start wars if it has not allready. And you said that the Germans dont know how to build a comfortable car?Why did you buy one then? Please go anddo some research and get your story straight.

P.S. What BOV did you put on your TT???

I agree, this car is far from a honda civic...or CRX.... obviously this guy doesn't actuly own a TT. This car out handles, accelerates....plus I have NEVER seen a civic or crx with leather.... let alone even near the quality of this car.

Some **** about this car does annoy me....but this is a very DIFFERENT car.

So how should a German sports car perform?
If you only plan on using it as a daily driver and, not making any modifications I can see how you MIGHT possibly say it only has a little pep.
I suggest if you want more "pep" out of your TT that you look into chipping it, or you could wait for the 07's to come out.
Or you could always just go and get a civic or crx if you think they are comparable... You'd probably get better gas mileage anyway.
As far as the cigarette lighter and ashtray go. Well it IS a GERMAN car and I'm sure in Europe they have different views on smoking then here in the states.
Granted Audi of America could have done something about this, but don't forget most of the TT's are a few years old (before the states got really big on the non-smoking campaign).
You could always remove the ashtray and put a navigation system in it's place. Then use the lighter as a power source for it... Just an idea.
I personally have no problem with my cup holders. I think they serve their purpose for when I happen to have a bottled drink with me.
I've also come to the realization that if the ashtray and cup holders are the only reason you don't consider the TT as a sports car, that it's somewhat silly for me to get discouraged about your comments.
I'm also extremely biased when it comes to these wonderful little German sports cars... So that may explain it a bit.

Okay I feel better now.
Thanks for letting me get that out of my 1.8T quattro coupe manual driven system!

2006-2007 Civic Si puts out better or compareable numbers performance wise. Notice on my post i said "kinda" i didnt say they were exactly the same, of course the audi is nicer, but these arent real sports cars in my eyes thats all, like i said, nothing wrong with it though,i love high quality cars (these are definately high quality) and i love the fact that they are small and have an original looking interior (which is why im uninterested in a 2007+ model) and exterior. I was only bringing up the performance (even with a chip, exhaust, and CAI these cars arent fast enough but i guess speed is all relative) and since luxury cars depreciate so greatly and quickly,i decided to buythe TT because i got it for less than a used Civic. So now i have excellentmileageAND luxury and of course a beautiful car.I only brought up the cigarette and ashtray thing because everybody here was talking about "pop" and how healthy and driver oriented germans/europeans are. Personally i can care less about that ****.I didnt mean to hurt anyones feeling buts thats just my 2cents

P.S- i have an APR BOV........jk i know Audis have diverter valves not blow off valves, nice trick question though i like that.

I'm still in shock over your 7 series comment. My 7 series was amazing....blew the TT out of the water... (No offense guys) ...but $80k vs $35k. Keep in mind mine was an 01 ....so it wasn't the new e65 body style ...but the E38 ....

still loove that car.... want to get another one.... I miss her

wow this whole thing

over me just simply stating that my preferences
are to have a cup holder that i can reach.
and wanted someone to suggest an aftermarket part to better suit my needs
haha
I weigh 165lbs and im 6 foot tall
haha not your average, fat, lazy american either
if i was
i wouldnt have been able to afford car of this stature at Just turning 20 by myself no help what so ever and still be financially comfortable (bmwtoaudi) Also, American cars are usually pieces of crap if you ask me, all they seem to do is break down and have problems. thus why i bought an Audi. If i wanted an american car i would have bought one, but i dont. And cup holders arnt that big of a deal to me i just wish it was easier to get to.
Plus when you look at a new car, do you think you would seriously look to see if the car had cupholders or even care much about where they were when you bought the car? i dont know about you but that wasnt the top thing on my list.
So with that in mind haha what exactly is the maneuver I need to learn in order to use these stock cup holders (achTTung) since im not any where near Big
And you drove for ONE long trip
try doing a 3 hour trip north then another 3 hour trip south in one day EVERY other weekend.
you do that and not care about cup holders then Kudos to you but I still want them in a more convenient area for my personal comfort

its like this forum is full of kids instead of adults
all you simply needed todo was help me and tell me how to fix my simple problem
I shouldnt have to deal with childish remarks and criticism
especially from grown adults.
over a cupholder

Thank you very much Member 225tt for not acting like everyone else and simply helping me find a solution to my problems.

charles, i was just giving you ****! ...Calm down! ...Actully I drive 30 miles every day to work... lucky for me there are lots of windy roads where I can travel the speed limit at 60mph ...or exceed it! ...between the boarder of SD and IOWA ...there are NOT many cops....so every so often I like to take the twistes ...around 100mph ..... it makes my trip home from work....amazing!...plus where the twists are cops cant hide...can only be on coming...and with no tree's ...you can see them VERY welll if they are coming.

anyways i was again just giving you crap.... I use mine from time to time if needed...however....compared to my 7.....im a much more " active " driver....verse ...just cruising...

anyways I hope you like the car![8D]

Charles,

You need to grow little thicker skin. Yes, we tend to give people a hard time from time to time. But to throw insults out when you are new to a forum, isn't going to gain you any stature or respect. There is a lot of great knowledge both within the archives of this forum and in the minds of the members.

Yes there is a range of ages of people in here from people like yourself to older members like me. You may think you know a lot right now, but wait another 20 years and look back at your life and you will come to understand that with age comes experience and knowledge.

Sit back, relax a little and enjoy the ride. You've got a fun car to drive, look at, and wrench on. Don' throw the shields up so fast and ease into the forum. You'll find that there are a lot of great people here and with time, you will get to the point where you have seen the same question from n00bs posted on the forum weekly.
