A lower spring with stock shocks will be eaten up after several months depending on how much you drive, and it rides horrible

Dont waste your money or time doing the springs without the shocks. As mentioned it will ride horrible, lots of residual bouncing. Plus its easier to install the whole deal all at once then having to tear apart the suspension twice to accomplish a single job. Save up and do the combo at the same time.

From my reading there is an apparant stock sway bar interference (hits the axles under compression?) after a 1 inch drop, so plan on upgrading to an aftermarket set of sway bars as well.

Save yourself the headache and make sure its all done proper the first time through. Dont forget the alighnment when your done.

I have used an Eibach/Koni combination in the past and it was fantastic. Eibach Sportlines, Koni Reds, Eibach Swaybars, ride was far from harsh and handling was superb. It was not a TT but I would expect the same engineering from any of thier products.

If you just upgrade the rear to the 19mm Neuspeed or the 22mm HR and leave the front stock, you'll be neutral overall. If you go with the larger rear bar, then you have to upgrade the front.

There are many 225 owners that have done just the 19mm Neuspeed rear. You will notice a big difference when you change to the 19mm rear. The understeer is drastically reduced. Running equal tire pressures all around after the change will help as well.

Yes there are some that have changed both, but the weight of the cars are the same whether your are a 180 or a 225. I don't think you gain anything significant by changing both of them.

I think I bought it from TTStuff, but it's been a few years. Just shop around a little, I would expect, however, that there won't be a big price variation.

If you are still looking into a front rear combination then I would suggest an Eibach matched Set. The benefit to doing both over upgrading front or rear individually is control over body roll. Instead of OEM Front/19mm Rear you would do a 22F/25R and further reduce or eliminate body roll, and maintain the same balance. I dont know what the Eibach specs are for the TT but they sets are designed to work together and in my experience they do just that.

ok ok, got the responses i needed.

but how much did you guys have it installed?

i did my own springs on my celica... but i dont wanna take the chance with the springs/shocks on this fine german machine, i would rather have it professionally done.

so if anyone can do it (prof.) in the southern cali area or have referrals/connections/hookups, let me know
