IAT logs on Tcarbon FMIC w/misters
Spent a little over 30mins tonight doing some logs of the intake air tempretures on my car equipped with a Tcarbon FMIC and homemade mister setup, here is what I came up with...
driving style, mixed agressive and normal driving.with ambientof 65-66F.
No mist, warm engine(90C), 5mins of driving-
under throttle/boost IAT 25-26C
in gear, light/no throttle IAT 33-34C
No mist, 15mins of driving-
under throttle/boost IAT 26-27C
in gear, light/no throttle IAT 36-37C
No mist, 20mins of driving-
under throttle/boost IAT 26-27C
in gear, light/no throttle IAT 38-39C
W/mist, 20+mins of driving-
under throttle/boost IAT 23-24C
in gear, light/no throttle IAT 35-36C
W/mist, 30+mins of driving
under throttle/boost IAT 23-24C
in gear, light/no throttle IAT 35-36C
no matter how I drove, the results stayed around the same, my speed was usually between 40-60mph with a few stops at traffic lights. don't quote me but if I remember correctly, with stock smic's my in boost temps were in the upper 30's and off throttle temps were in the mid/upper 40's
my mist was 100% windsheild washer fluid, and from the results it appears to not make a HUGE difference, but a noticible one to say the least. I expect it would be more benificial on a hot day(which is what I made it for).
sorry for the C readings, I don't know what they are in F.

W/o the mister and after your 20min of mixed driving the tCarbon fell to 66% effecient. Avg effeciency is around 70% with a good intercooler and should be a little higher with a great intercooler.

IC's are like what your mother tells you about girls, its whats on the inside that counts. If your lucky sometimes you can find one thats nice looking on the inside AND on the outside.

Just found out on vortex that Forge uses a tube and fin design, i wonder if Patty wants to comment.
