Default I told you so!/Modshack

All those who are modshackers, maybe it worked for you..but for all those who said don't get it, this is where you can say I told you so...
Installed the **** and 4bar fpr and it completely fu$$ed with my ecu..my ecu doesn't know what to make of the difference b/w the air coming in the **** and the air going out. It just spits it back out under heavy load. According to modshack, the ecu is supposed to "adapt", but it doesn't. You can't just 'trick' the car into thinking it has the right amount of airflow and think nothing adverse is going to happen b/c of it!
Modshack?...no thanks, man!

I had the **** and 4 bar FPR on my 02 TT and it kinda messed things up to. The bigger MAF not only threw off my MPG calculator but it also caised some back fire as my ECU didnt know what to do with the extra air or the different readings the MAF was getting. Took it off and things got better. If you got the car tuned with the **** it would be ok I think.

I'm experiencing the same backfire problems..exactly the same! So I'm going to take the negative terminal off for a few hours and let the ecu reset itself, so maybe it can adjust to the new mixture. If so, then I'll come back and edit this thread a little..but if it doesn't, then let it be a testimony to modshack.

when i got my ****, the car runs super rich for the 1st 100kms (60miles) the **** is realyl intended for chipped car and depending on you tune your adaptation may be different.

for the one that i had.. may i add get rid of it and i dont know why you bothered with it (actually i do know but i wont even go there :P) really be carefull with it, if you reset your ecu and have the **** in it . you will run rich for a while get some backfire, after about 2-3 days ... (depending on how much you drive) it will even itself out. (somewhat) if you have a vag-cable see the a/f after about 60-90 miles. WARNING !!!! DONNOT RIP YOUR CAR WHILE ITS ADAPTING!!!! im serious, if you think that you can reset the ecu or just intall the **** and rip the gears at WOT then you are just gonna F^$% **** up. take it ez on your TT for about max of 1 week, if you have a boost machine, then i suggest just turn all that cr@ap off and let the car adjust to it at just normal then tune it with the BM.

but no matter what i dont have Modshack at all anymore and i had stg3 .. sounds cool but goes nowhere fast.

Nope, no boost machine. But it is tuned with 91 apr right now.The BMhasn't been hooked up for weeks. Just the **** and 4bar, and intake. That **** has had plenty of time to adapt, but still hasn't. I got a VAG done yesterday and it's not running rich or lean, just right. In any case, as soon as i can get a hold of a stock mafhousing, i'm taking that modshack **** off!
