i swear getting chipped is like robbery - why are they so much $?
I called / emailed the local tuner shops to in the Detroit area.
APR = $749
Neuspeed Optican = $499
waiting to hear back from Giac. I couldnt find info on anything else local.
Hi Chad, Your car is on the cut off for either the direct port flash, or it could possibly be a solder in.. If it is a sold in, then: Labor = $80 Parts = $45 First program = $499 Second program = $150 Third and Fourth program = $70 ea Options are $60 If you got the two programs and your car had to have a chip soldered in, you’d be at: $774 plus tax

Send it to ecstuning for APR. It should be ~$500 and since they are in northern Ohio, you should have it shipped and back in 3days. If you can wait a little longer, send it to Ray for Uni tune

maybe i'll get ballsy and diode mod it. i figure at this point, i've had most the car all ripped apart anyhow, so wtf.

its because they can have high prices... think about it... if someone offered one at say 250 everyone would have to drop to 250, but because everyone stays up around 500 no change is needed because people keep buying them. once the consumer stops buying at 500 then prices will drop

i can get the neuspeed for $399 now. i heard it is the smoothest. I am mostly stock and plan on staying that way for a bit. if I really wanted a BT, I'd just sell my TT and buy a newer one with it already installed. However, i'm looking for just a bit more pep. nothing major.

THink about it, dollar for dollar, it's the best bang for the buck I think for the gains received! I got my APR locally for $450 with a free APR Tuned badge!
