how would i know what chip i have?
ok, im so happy today because i just got my audi. i bought it from a private seller with only 35k miles. she said she was the second owner. i checked the carfax and the first owner was a corporate lease. she also told me that the car was lowered with 19" rims and she doesnt really know details about the upgrades it has because when she bought it from the dealer, she said it has 2004 upgrades. she also mentioned that it has a chip that would makes the 225 to 265hp. so when i got it today, i looked at the springs, it was eibach springs and it has miglia rims. how would i find out what kind of chip it has and how would i find out if it is activated. on the manaual book, there was a piece of paper that has some sorth of instuction talking about the cruise control to be pressed and the engine light would blink to few seconds and would keep on going until i choose the program. please help me out. thank you!

contact the first owner or whoever chipped it... other than that idk, i dont think you can really identify which one... they all do the same though for the most part...
might i ask why it would matter which you have?

RE: how would i know what chip i have?
i just bought an '02 TT and have been looking at parts and reading up on it as much as possible and in my readings, i came across the APR page, and their chip, which gives the process of choosing setting, via the cruise switch, click the link below and read the section on the "EMCS" i too believe i have a chip just not sure which one, i guess i'll have to pull the wiper cowl to see if their is an identifying sticker on the case.if it sounds like what you have, you probably can contact APR, and see if they have a record of the cars they have chipped. good luck

You more than likely have the APR chip. I don't know of another chip that utilizes the Cruise Control stalk to switch between
programs. If you do have the APR program than the other thing you will need to find out on which program you have and if
you have more than one installed. Like a stock program for the dealer, a 91 Octane program, 93 Octane Program, 100 Octane Program.
I assume you have a boost gauge? Anyone regardless if they are chipped or not should have a boost gauge as their first mod to monitor
the boost range and determine if the car is running properly or is in limp mode etc.
Go to the apr web site and look at the instructions on how to switch programs and play with your cruise control and then monitor the boost gauge
on how it changes. If you are chipped you should be boosting around 22-24psi. Stock I think is between 16-18 psi.
What year is your TT? You said it go upgraded to a 2004 model. That is highly unlikely unless they changed the engine. The 2003 and 2004 are the
only TT 225's are the only ones with the VVT (Variable Valve Timing). It is impossible to upgrade to that unless you swap engines. 2004 sadly was
the last year for the TT225 model. After that only the 180 was offered in the 4cyl variety and of course the 3.2 VR6 model.
Welcome to the TT Crowd. Have fun and Happy Modding!

RE: how would i know what chip i have?
depends on what was loaded.
Any combination of stock, 91, 93, 100, valet (reduced power), and kill (car won't start to stop potential theives).
Depending on whats there, I believe they'd go in that order, so if you had 3 programs, you might have something like stock, 93, and valet as program 1, 2, and 3.
My old TT had 93 and 100.
I wouldn't play with it until I knew exactly what was loaded. You could do some serious damage if you switched to 100 while only running 93 octane gas.
Give APR a call, they could probably tell you what was loaded by VIN.
