Default How do you remove a shift **** on a 2004 TT?

Hi Guys,

I was wondering how you remove the shift **** off a 2004 TT225. I know that the 2000-2002 are threaded and just screw on.
But when I was looking for aftermarket shift ***** they all only show up to 2002 TT's and say that it will not fit 2003+ TT's
I hate to try and see if the shift **** does screw off and then brake something. Can someone with a repair manual look it up
and let me know if it is indeed different on a 2004 then the previous year TT's?

Thank you for your help.

The Bently just says "unscrew to remove" and doesn't say its different for other years. I'm pretty sure it just unscrews.

It unscrews. You have to turn it pretty hard.

Okay, this weekend when I have a few brews and don't have to go to work in the early morning hours I will give it a shot and
start screwing. And then I might try that shift **** too.
