What parts did you use and where did you get them? I'm going to install a jvc dvd player here soon and I need to know what you all used to get your radio installed and working good.

Thanks!

circuitcity or best buy would be able to get you the part number... i have them at home (at work right now) hopefully i could find it yet. The only issue i had when i did mine a year ago was Metra discontinued the harness for it so it might be difficult to find now if they didnt make anymore.

wiring harness and mounting bracket and youll get it... was pretty simple...i had to do some grinding with the mounting kit and so did others online so be prepared for it not to fit lol....

when doing the aftermarket radio, does the rds display on the cluster stop working? is it only compatible with the stock radio?

I work for Best Buy, so I will check into it. They're car audio dept sux in generalthough. I wouldn't trust my baby to them. Theinstaller at my store is pretty cool, but something about trusting a non-american car to them just doesn't sit well with me. I already bought the harness on eBay, but I will look into the plate for mounting the radio.

The harness is a Metra 70-1787, includes the preamp connections for the factory Bose amp.
Anyone know how to disable that crazy volume changing stuff the Bose amp does?

I love mydiscount. I got a set of three metra faceplates (different sizes of radios) and the antenna adapter for ~$9.

Has anyone tried installing a double-din anywhere? I can't see where there would be room without significant custom fabrication, but I may be wrong.

you could probably do it down below the ash tray.

That's the only location that I can even fathom as a possibility, but I'm curious if anyone's done it and whether a lot of work was necessary to install it cleanly.

unfortunately this forum is more concerned with the mechanical side of things than the electrical side. I'm about to put a bluetooth radio in mine I think, single din though.
