How can I tell if my car is chipped?

How can I tell if my car is chipped?
Hi Guys,
I just bought a 2001 TT 225HP Quattro Coupe and when I changed Sparkplugs I also saw that
it already had an aftermarket DV (Diverter Valve) which leads me to believe that the car may
already be chipped or tuned. How can I make sure before I invest into another Tune that I don't need?
Where is the ECU Located and would I be able to tell by looking at it?
Thanks for your help!

pretty sure the ECU is against the firewall on the drivers side underneath the wiper cowl I'm not to sure how u are going to find out if it is chipped or not I do know a few people with DV's and no chip so I wouldn't assume that

Thanks CL...
Hey would you know by any chance on how I can program a new Keyremote to work with my TT?? I know there is suppose to be
a way via the Cruise Control? But I have no clue. You seem to be an active member and know your way around.
Can you offer any suggestions?
Thanks for your help!

I think since you have a 2001 It has the imobolizer and you need to do it with a vag.com or you can go to your local dealer I think they only charge about half an hour to do this but if you do go to the dealer remember to bring all your keys with you
