Default hks ssq bov question

i just bought a hks ssq bov for my 2000 tt quatro i know the check engine light is going to come on. is there any other problems i am going to have. i can live with a light on, but im going to get the apr chip soon will this affect it. thanks

Ditto.

You'll have a much better time with a diverter valve, the vented air gets passed back into the non-pressurized intake, instead of to atmosphere. For these cars, its almost necessary, and you'll see a huge performance difference between a BOV and a DV.

yeah, pretty much said already, but you dont want to use a BOV or anything that vents to air, our cars are not meant for that due to the fact that the ecu anticipates having the air vented back into the intake track. you may also be seeing some problems with stalling or rpm dropping after letting off after being in boost. i'm pretty sure that you can get a recirculation kit for your bov, which will make it function the same as a DV (diverter valve or bypass valve, or whatever you want to call it)

All that and a bag of chips. From what I understand you will also get a lot of turbo lag when banging the gears, the BOV lets to much air out of the system and the way the car is designed it takes some time to build that pressure back up.

hahahah funny everyone here is saying that dont get one.. and you got one! lol same with me... i got one because i LOVE the sound it makes! call me crazy but i love the pffffft sound

but everyone is right.... you do loose power... but thats totally up to you

wow, i really havent heard anything bad about the forge, the threads i read its number 1, or one of the best ones to get. thats why i got it, i dont have any complaints

I liek the stratmosphere DV it has a very nice tiiisssshhhh sound plus they have compact ones that are the same size at the stock for stealth look.
