You would think insurance companies would take a vested interest in reducing deer populations. It would probably increase their annual profits if their agents shot one everytime they drove by one.
I've seen 10 - 15 grouped in fields on my road. Like they were daring each other to run across when they see lights coming.

The problem in Baltimore County is that suburban sprawl has decreased the deers habitat area, and their natural predators are no longer around. I heard that the deer population is now greater than it was during 1800's. Lymmes disease is also on the rise. I think the state has increased the hunting season a little bit, but only a concerted effort will have a significant impact.
