Normally, he carried a knife, and if he had it, he'd have slit its throat to put it down, but he was driving his moms van, and didn't have his knife. He considered driving home quick to get a gun, but didn't want to leave the deer suffering another 20-30 minutes, so he improvised.

with a tire iron.
Are you sure you weren't born in my town?

We lived just a few short hours from each other dude. If you're not from the city, you're upstate, and upstate does what it takes.

I've come close to hitting a few deer in the past couple months. Drive to work takes me through a good stretch of country that features a lot of deer.....I feel as though it's only a matter of time...

they're most active at dusk/dawn than in the middle of the night (but don't count them out). Also more active with more moon light. They don't have night vision, they need something to go by...
Just keep your eyes peeled for the reflection from their eyes. You'll see that long before you can make out the shape of a deer. Do that, and your chances of avoiding an accident will be much better.

I'm not sure if it made the national news, but about 2-3 months ago some guys were arrested in WI for "gutting" a deer with a snowmobile track and also tieing one to a tree.
$4000 for what , you can paint the entire car for 3K and it's not Maaco

Headlights = $900 a piece when you're talking insurance. Front bumper is a few hundred... it adds up. Its dumb that those parts cost so much, but it adds up.
